Texas Transitional

A refined Texas Hill Country residence designed through a fully integrated high-performance approach, this home combines durable regional materials with carefully coordinated enclosure detailing, mechanical planning, and long-term environmental resilience.

The exterior composition pairs limestone masonry, stucco, and a standing seam metal roof to create a durable assembly suited for the Central Texas climate. Deep roof overhangs, and strategically placed glazing help reduce heat gain while maintaining balanced natural light throughout the interior.

Behind the architecture, the home was developed as a coordinated building system rather than a collection of independent components. Structural framing, enclosure transitions, HVAC distribution, plumbing infrastructure, and electrical planning were evaluated together from the outset to support air-tightness, thermal continuity, moisture management, and long-term durability.

Special attention was given to:
 

  • continuous control layer alignment

  • conditioned mechanical integration

  • water management detailing

  • thermal bridge reduction

  • serviceability and future maintenance access

  • constructable assembly sequencing


The result is a home that performs quietly and predictably over time—providing improved comfort, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and resilience while maintaining the warmth and character of a contemporary Texas transitional design language.

Rather than relying on products alone, performance was achieved through coordination, continuity, and disciplined execution from concept through construction.
